Real Purpose of Education

We the Humans are social animals. We have the habit of learning from the ancient times, might be because of our curiosity of knowing new things. With the due course of time, the modes of learning have been changed. Earlier times, we do some Practical activities for learning & now we do have simulation techniques. The fantastic point here is,  Learning is an Ongoing Process. People call it Education, others say, “Education System”. As we know, The process of ongoing learning is the Education or educating ourselves. But very few people are aware of the Three basic Pillars of The Education. Here is one of the amazing statement for Education by Respected Lao Tzu “ To attain knowledge, add things every day. To attain wisdom, remove things every day. ”

Above quote is connecting with the ongoing learning & also focusing on the Wisdom. The three fundamental Pillars of the Education are

1.Information       2. Knowledge      3. Wisdom

A day when I asked my Teacher/Mentor about what the Education is all about & What is the purpose of getting it. He Smiled & Replied that the Information we gather/grasp from different sources lead to our Knowledge which finally leads to our Wisdom. For an Instance: If we read Mathematics related Information That 2 + 2 = 4, Now we have the knowledge of this addition calculation. The third very important pillar came into picture when we use our Brain to apply this knowledge is called Wisdom One aspect is, The Education is all about gathering Information from different sources, can be formal/informal, bookish or sharing of thoughts-experiences to enhance the Knowledge of facts with reasons Or logics & Its use in our life. Another aspect is, one way of getting an education is experimental & the other one is Learning from the historical facts & figures. Every person needs not to jump into the ocean to check the depth.

Now time is to understand the Right Purpose of getting Education. To get into this, one should have the knowledge of “ How to do ” rather than “ What to do ”. Collectively no Education system is good or bad. We all should question our intelligence at times, which will give us more clarity about the right purpose of Education & then only we can fulfil the Right purpose of Life.
