When it comes to Kapoors who can forget Anil Kapoor; and when it comes to Anil Kapoor who cannot remember his son Harshvardhan Kapoor. Harshvardhan Kapoor made his acting debut in Bollywood with Mirza with Rakesh Omprakash Mehra; which turned out to be one disaster. He failed to entertain public by his acting skills. He is now coming up with his 2nd movie, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero written and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane with Phantom Films. Motwane understands the Human emotions and then portray those emotions through his movies. That’s his biggest strength being a director.
Bollywood surely amazes us with all the genres and concepts of filmmaking. Generally, what all superhero movies like Ra-One, Krrish, Flying Jatt, etc. which we have watched (or maybe not!!) they had kids as their core audience. Comparatively, Bhavesh Joshi has a mature presentation and it hits where it hurts. The trailer looks quite intriguing and fascinating. The film has broken away from the well-trodden path of Bollywood playing safe and came up with this nice concept. It takes a route that Bollywood might not want to set foot on.
The movie revolves around three friends- Bhavesh Joshi, Sikander Khanna and Rajat; who believe that change begins with them. With all the corruptions, fraud and other ill- activities happening in our country the trailer punched the hardest wall of the society. Bhavesh and Sikander start Insaaf TV where they play the role of masked avengers. They try to stop people from urinating on roads and cutting trees with tagline “Insaaf Punch “which holds the comedy content but eventually they land themselves in ugly politics with a powerful water mafia. In all this one of the friends dies and Harshvardhan Kapoor tries to avenge his friend’s death. This part of the movie has action element.
The Critics have applauded the movie and have given superb comments for the movie, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Motwane. Motwane who has given brilliant movies like Lootera, Trapped and Udaan has not failed the audience with this movie. Harshvardhan, on the other hand, has proved his mettle as an actor with his role in this movie. The actors in the supporting role- Priyanshu Painyuli and Ashish Verma have done a tremendous work and are being praised for their performances. In the movie, no one has any superpowers nor do they have any fancy vehicles, gadgets or any magic ring. This movie depicts the power of a common man. Although this movie has a hint of Vikram’s movie “Aparichit” which was released in 2005, it’s good to see fresh faces with not so fresh but hard-hitting concept. IMDB has provided 8.3/10 and TOI- 3.5/5. The film got released in the theatres on 25th May, 2018.
Someone said “With great power, comes greater responsibility”; but this movie depicts that if you are destined to do bigger things then you don’t need super-powers. Even a commoner can be a superhero. According to this movie, Heroes are not born, they are made. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is darker than the other Superheroes in Bollywood. He is like Batman of DC World. Let’s see how much this movie is grossing on Silver Screen!!
